For multiple years in a row now, this blog has published this list on Black Friday Freebies. Black Friday is one of two days of the year where you can literally go from place to place to get freebies with no purchase required (The other is your birthday). For super savers, coupon clippers, cheapskates, and die hard holiday shoppers, you should be aware that this blog only lists freebies that are actually free. There may be many other good deals on Black Friday that are not listed here, depending on your personal situation.
The Following Types of Promotions are Actually Free:
- Door prizes
- Sweepstakes
- Free Food and activities
- Coupon for $10 off $10 or more (or $5 or any other increment)
- Free after rebate (sales tax and postage may apply)
Free after rebate deals still make the list since the savings are around 99% even with sales tax and postage. Use a cash back credit card (without carrying any debt from month to month) to offset some of that cost.
The Following Types of Promotions are NOT Actually Free and are not on this list:
- Free with purchase
- Free gift card with purchase
- Free with activation
- Free after points (this is like a BOGO, which is not actually free)
While these are not actually free by themselves, they can potentially be combined with other offers to get even more freebies. For example, get an item that is free after points, then use the points to buy an item that is free after mail in rebate (MIR), and both items are actually free. Even without combining offers, “free after points” offers can still be very good for stocking stuffers.
